How a Clinician Can Add a Patient to the MCAP
Clinicians can prescribe medical cannabis products under the Medical Cannabis Access Programme (MCAP) by registering eligible patients on the Cannabis for Medical Use Register (CMUR). Consultants must complete the CMUR application form, in collaboration with the patient or guardian, and submit it to the HSE for approval. Upon approval, the patient is provided a CMUR number and access to the MCAP program.
